The approach

See. Focus.
Direct. Make.

A simple process, with room for discovery. Your experience sets the direction; I help turn it into something people can see, understand and use.

01

See

We look at your work, your existing materials and how your business shows up today.

02

Focus

We decide who you want to reach, what they need to understand and what matters most.

03

Direct

I shape the words, images and plan, and help you feel at ease on camera.

04

Make

We make the work, refine it and get it ready for your business.

What we explore together

Your direction

  • How do you think you’re perceived?
  • How do you want to be perceived?
  • What do you want more of?
  • What should stay out of your public or social presence?

Your starting point

We take stock of your photographs, films, writing and other materials: what you own, what is licensed and what needs permission or new work.

Your name and its protection

When naming is part of the project, we look at names and domains, do preliminary availability research and identify brand-protection and trademark questions. I can help you find the right qualified professional for the questions that need one.

Preliminary checks do not establish legal availability or trademark clearance. Legal advice and trademark registration are outside this consultation.

Meet Fletcher Shepley-McTaggart

A storyteller’s instinct.
A builder’s eye.

I’m a performer, director, writer, photographer and working Realtor in Hamilton, Montana. My path here has taken me through theaters, film sets and the hands-on work of building and understanding homes. Fletcher Shepley Media brings those experiences together.

You don’t need to become somebody else for the internet. My job is to help you feel at ease, find what matters and sound like yourself.

Broadway & filmCreative directionPhotography & real estate
Read the story behind the work

From the stage to the set.

I’ve been performing since I was ten years old. That lifelong practice grew into a career spanning theater, Broadway, television and film.

Working professionally as Fletcher McTaggart, I appeared in The Heat, directed by Paul Feig and starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. On Broadway, I was part of the company of Leap of Faith, whose cast included Raúl Esparza and Leslie Odom Jr. My stage work also includes John Proctor in The Crucible at Pioneer Theatre Company and the title role in Martin Luther on Trial.

Qinetic: creative direction in practice.

At Qinetic, I helped create the website and served as creative director for a fitness platform. We produced more than 430 short videos, beginning with live-streamed workouts delivered through our app and website, then turning those sessions into a video library. I also created two longer-format exercise productions.

The fitness professionals knew their craft. My job was to help them feel at ease on camera and connect with the people watching. I bring that same approach to agents, builders and anyone with something valuable to share.

Learning to see the whole house.

Construction, carpentry and home inspection taught me to look beyond a finished surface: how a house is put together, how its spaces work and which details deserve a closer look.

As a Realtor, I ask what a buyer needs to understand, what an owner has put into a home, and what a builder sees that a photograph might miss. Those questions guide the story.

New tools. Practiced judgment.

For more than four years, I’ve worked hands-on with machine intelligence—MI, often called AI—to explore ideas, organize information and develop creative work. The experience I bring to a house, a story or a frame guides how I use it.

How I work with machine intelligence
Let’s tell your story
Human experience · Machine intelligenceNew tools. Practiced judgment.

Machine intelligence helps me explore ideas, organize material and refine drafts. I check the facts, consider what serves your project and make the final choices.

From a property to a story.

I start with what’s actually there: the light, the layout and the details worth noticing. MI helps me explore story approaches and shape a shot plan. I choose the direction, photograph and film the real place, and refine the finished piece.

Why I say machine intelligence

I use machine intelligence, or MI, for the systems commonly called artificial intelligence, or AI. The term has a long research history: Edinburgh hosted the First International Machine Intelligence Workshop in 1965. Today it appears in the name of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), which also uses the term AI.

At Fletcher Shepley Media, what matters is how I work with it: clear questions, creative exploration, careful judgment and useful results.

What useful MI can look like, and what it asks of us

The possibilities reach well beyond creative work. These independent research examples show why usefulness deserves a closer look.

Communication

A way to be heard.

In a UC Davis clinical trial, an investigational brain-computer interface helped Casey Harrell, who has ALS, communicate by turning attempted-speech brain signals into text and computer-generated speech. This report describes one participant’s experience with an experimental system.

Read the UC Davis report
Scientific discovery

New starting points.

AlphaFold predicts the three-dimensional shapes of proteins. Google DeepMind and EMBL-EBI make these predictions openly available to support research, including work on disease biology and antibiotic resistance. A prediction is a starting point for investigation, not proof of a treatment.

Explore the AlphaFold database
Flood forecasting

More time to prepare.

A study published in Nature showed that an AI model could improve river-flood forecasting in places without local streamflow measurements. The researchers incorporated it into a system offering free, public forecasts. Performance varies by location.

Read the flood-forecasting study

Usefulness comes with responsibility.

These tools can make mistakes and put private information at risk. Training and running them also uses energy, water and other resources. Responsible use calls for checking important outputs, protecting sensitive information and weighing the benefit against the cost.

Further reading: NIST’s generative AI risk profile (PDF) and the IEA’s Energy and AI report.

These independent research examples are not Fletcher Shepley Media services, results or endorsements. My standard here is practical: does the work help you tell a clearer story and give people something useful?

Before we begin

A few useful
answers.

Do I need to be comfortable on camera?

No. We work through short talking points, rehearse at your pace and find your rhythm. I’ll guide you through the shoot. The goal is for you to sound like yourself.

Can you work with my existing website?

Yes. We’ll review the platform, access and what you need before deciding how the media or new pages fit.

Can I buy a website without a monthly plan?

Yes. Website launches are one-time purchases. Hosting, domain renewals and paid services are separate costs, agreed in advance. Monthly services are optional.

What happens after the website is handed over?

You have three hours of minor updates, training or content help to use within 90 days. Corrections to the agreed delivery do not use those hours. See handoff and additional support.

Where do you work?

Hamilton and the Bitterroot Valley, with projects across Western Montana. We confirm any travel and location costs in advance.

More about packages, website care & MI
Who do you work with?

Agents, brokerages, builders, tradespeople, inspectors and designers, with room for local businesses that have a story to tell.

Which packages include a Command Center?

The Positioning and Cinematic Launch websites include your private workspace. It stays with your website, and we use it for ongoing production when appropriate. Presence websites do not include it. Email, MLS/IDX, CRM connections and custom automation are scoped separately.

What is included in the $59 and $79 monthly website plans?

The $59 plan gives you a monthly website report. The $79 plan adds my review, checks of agreed pages and an inquiry path, and one recommendation. See both plans and their scope.

How does monthly production work?

Month-to-month, with 30 days’ notice. We plan the shoots, stories and delivery dates together. See monthly packages and revision allowances.

What do you mean by machine intelligence, and can you teach our team?

MI is the term we use for systems commonly called AI. I teach practical ways to explain your goal, refine and check the result, and put it to use. See how I work with it, or explore workshops and consulting.
